April 22, 2024, Garrison, NY—Garrison Art Center (GAC) invites art enthusiasts and supporters to celebrate creativity in the Hudson Valley at its upcoming live auction, ‘The Next 60.’ The auction will be held on May 11th at Garrison’s Landing and will feature renowned auctioneer Nico Lowry, President of Swann Galleries, NYC, and an appraiser seen on Antiques Roadshow.

This year’s auction will showcase 60 works inspired by the natural and constructed wonders of the Hudson Valley. The diverse collection includes sculptures, paintings, ceramics, drawings, and more, all created or finished in 2024. Regional artists, including GAC artist members, have contributed their talents, with special access granted to paint at regional locations such as Manitoga and Topfield Equestrian Center.

The festivities will commence with a reception and viewing at 3 pm, followed by a live auction at 5 pm. Tickets for the auction are priced at $25, encompassing admission to the viewing and reception, wine, hors d’oeuvres, a bidding paddle, and access to the auction tent, sponsored by M&T Bank.

“Garrison Art Center takes pride in fostering local talent and celebrating the rich artistic heritage of the Hudson Valley,” said Catherine Graham, Executive Director of GAC. “This year’s auction looks back at our 60-year history and forward as we celebrate our role as a leading art center in the Hudson Valley. Our annual auction not only showcases the creativity of our region but also provides vital support for our year-round programming. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting our mission, whether by purchasing tickets, making donations, or spreading the word about this exciting event.”

Since its inception in 1981, the annual auction has been instrumental in funding GAC’s diverse range of art programs. With a fundraising goal of $20,000, the event serves as the organization’s largest fundraiser, enabling GAC to continue its mission of promoting art accessibility and fostering a vibrant cultural community.
