“Summer Shorts” – One-Act Staged Readings
August 18 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM EDT$5
On Friday, August 18th at 7:30 pm, Tompkins Corners Cultural Center, in association with the Aery Theatre Company, will present an evening of one-act play readings by local playwrights, including Albi Gorn, Julie Heckert, Pat Lennon and Matt Tomasino.
This will be first program in a series of readings at TCCC by Hudson Valley playwrights that is made possible, in part, through the Arts Link of the Putnam Arts Council, with public funds from the NYS Council on the Arts with support of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature and with public funds from Putnam County.
There will be a Q&A discussion and refreshments. Suggested donation is $5 at the door.
The Aery Theatre Company was founded in 2006 by Patrick J. Lennon, with Richard Edwin Knipe, Artistic Director. Its home is the Depot Theatre in Garrison, NY, where it produces two play festivals each year, the Ariane Festival in the spring and the 20/20 Festival in the fall. It has nurtured the development of many Hudson Valley playwrights and provides a forum for both actors and playwrights to develop their craft.
Tompkins Corners Cultural Center is a not-for-profit organization that purchased the historic Methodist church at 729 Peekskill Hollow Road in Putnam Valley in 2015. Since then, presentations include concerts, family events, weekly T’ai Chi classes, Cajun jams, Open Mic night and a local Farmers Market on Friday afternoons all summer long.
