Catskill Chill Music Festival and SkyBaby Yoga & Pilates Studio announce their music & programing lineup for MAYfest; a Music, Arts, and Yoga festival planned for May 26-28, 2017 at Surprise Lake Camp in Cold Spring, NY. Highlights for this year include Rusted Root, Ozomatli, Dar Williams, DJ Drez, and the return of some all-star instructors like Elena Brower, Sadie Nardini and Amy Pearce-Hayden. A hallmark of MAYfest programming is the combination of Yoga and Live Music sessions throughout the weekend, including Marti Nikko + DJ Drez, Melia Marzollo + Rusted Root, Ghanian Dance Class + Will Evans and more.
MAYfest is most simply put, daytime classes, night time party, with something for everyone. “MAYfesters” can customize their experience with a weekend pass or single day visits and create a schedule online from any of the 140 sessions that vary in style, type, and skill level. We offer beginner to advanced yoga, SUP yoga on the lake, dance, art, health workshops, meditation and more. In between class sessions, guests can shop local & hand crafted goods in our Vendor Village and receive holistic services from healers in our Wellness Center. After the sun goes down, the main stage lights up and the party continues with nationally touring musical acts.
In addition to headliners listed above, over a dozen additional artist will pay sets on the Beach Stage and the Main Stage, a large open aired amphitheater overlooking Surprise Lake. Additional artists include: Dustin Thomas, Sadie Nardini with Salt & Bone, DJ Taz Rashid, Will Evans & Rising Tide, Garcia Project, Upstate Rubdown, Haley Jane & The Primates, Srikala, Avidya, Adam Bauer, Breakneck Boys, Tall Country, SkyBaby Sound Healing, and Puppet World News.
Exploring creativity, another theme of the weekend, giving MAYfesters a break from the more physical activities. World renowned yoga photographer, Robert Sturman will be leading workshops where attendees learn to be both behind and in front of the lens. Attendees will also have the opportunity to book private sessions with this master of the photographic arts, allowing them to focus in on building their own picture portfolios for personal and professional use. Estonian Artist, Jaanika Peerna will be creating live art through movement as well, as teaching others how they can do this too! Other activities such as dream catcher weaving, suminigashi, painting, and art with movement give MAYfesters a variety of activities each day.
