Music Masters Collective – Our Story:

In 1995, a group of friends gathered in NYC and dreamed of creating a home base for highly interactive and immersive music events set in an idyllic natural environment. Subsequently, in 2000, Henry Stout and Michael Densmore founded Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY.  Initial programming featured weekend events with local and regional talent. By 2006 the concept had taken root with multi-day mid-week “camps” featuring high caliber national touring artists. Over the years, the program has blossomed, with weekly summer season presentations featuring world-class musicians, spanning the spectrum of genres.

In 2019, the non-profit Music Masters Collective Inc. was formed with the mission of producing live music and interactive educational curriculum for musicians and music lovers of all backgrounds, skill levels and financial status. The intention is to offer an unparalleled level of access and connection to the music you love and the artists who make it happen.

MMC shares a symbiotic relationship with Full Moon Resort. The common thread is the combination of an idyllic natural environment, gourmet dining and superb lodging with world-class live music, interactive master classes, and collaborative jam sessions.

Looking forward: MMC envisions significant growth of the scholarship campaign alongside programming expansion, including online streaming and archival content.

MMC is funded by a combination of registration fees, grants and sponsorships. In addition, the organization accepts Scholarship Donations, 100% of which are distributed directly to individuals seeking financial aid.

Scholarships: Over the course of a decade, MMC has provided financial aid to hundreds of people spanning more than 100 events. It is their goal to continue and expand this legacy and to make their programs highly accessible.
