Concert Press Release


 The Doansburg Chamber Ensemble will continue its 2017 season with performances by its duo of flute and guitar.  The program will be performed on Saturday, July 22nd at 7 p.m. at St. Mary in the Highlands Episcopal Church at 1 Chestnut Street (intersection of Routes 9D and 301) in Cold Spring, New York, and on Sunday, July 23rd at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2103 Route 6, just west of Brewster, New York.  The Ensemble will feature flutist Christine Smith and guitarist Seth Himmelhoch.  Scheduled repertoire for this concert includes Danses Espagnoles by E. Granadas, F. Carulli’s Serenade Op. 109 No. 1, Histoire du Tango by A. Piazzolla, and M. Diego Pujol’s Suite Buenos Aires, as well as other works.

These artists have been heard at major performance venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Alice Tully Hall, and Lincoln Center. Mr. Himmelhoch is based in Teaneck, New Jersey. He holds a Bachelor and Master Degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and he is the director of guitar studies at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ. Miss Smith is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, Pre-College Division, and she holds a Master Degree in Education.  She has also received a Certificate of Commendation for Meritorious Achievement from the School of Orchestral Studies.
