Swamp Things: Art of the Great Swamp in Patterson

Swamp Things: Art of the Great Swamp

Art of the Great Swamp will be featured from Saturday, December 17, 2016 through Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Front Street Gallery, 21 Front Street in Patterson. Sponsored by the Front Street Gallery and FrOGS (Friends of the Great Swamp), the show will highlight works by 28 artists from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut focused on “Swamp Things”.

Exhibited works were originally submitted to the juried show and competition sponsored by FrOGS for their 20th annual Great Swamp Celebration and Art Show in November. One of the rules for submission was that the work had to represent something in the Great Swamp or surrounding watershed.

“FrOGS held several photography and plein air painting workshops throughout 2016 to encourage and engage artists with several Great Swamp locations,” said Justin Goodhart, one of the organizers of the show. “We were thrilled with the resulting works.”

An opening artists’ reception will be held Saturday, December 17 from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Regular hours of the gallery are Friday 11-3, Saturday and Sunday 10-2 or by appointment by contacting [email protected] or 917-880-5307.
