Tompkins Corners Cultural Center will host renowned choir director and singer Cat Guthrie in an 8-week choral group series starting Thursday, March 23rd.
Do you love to sing? In life, Cat maintains that “Harmony is the greatest equalizer. Each voice is just as important as any other.”
The choral group will meet for eight Thursdays at Tompkins Corners, from 7:30 to 9pm.
Cat Guthrie has been singing harmony since the age of three. Her wide range of experience encompasses singing in a close harmony jazz trio (Satin Dolls), the twice Grammy nominated LA Jazz Choir, to 100 member choirs; in performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall Productions in Atlantic City, and venues all over the world.
Cat has been directing The Dream Choir in Garrison, NY for five years. She also directs a Threshold Choir which sings at the bedside of sick and dying people. She leads harmony workshops in corporations, and directs corporate choirs as well. An entertainer – charismatic, passionate, and persuasive, she coaxes the best out of everyone. Her intention with every choir is to have FUN, be joyful (and just a little irreverent), bringing the gift of group singing to whomever she can.
Cat knows that singing and harmony can change the world. To learn more about Cat’s work, visit her website:www.harmonyandco.com.
